Hi, I'm Nerissa!
The idea for The Day I Beat the Germs came to me while I was quarantining with my husband and our four-year old twins during the Spring of 2020.
I had been playing with an idea for a series of books that would do two important things: help parents prepare their children for life's big moments, and allow kids of all backgrounds to see themselves reflected in the pages of the storybooks that shape their childhoods
The pandemic gave me a push to make the first book happen.
The Day I Beat the Germs is the story that helped me talk to my children about the challenging circumstances of this year. I hope it can serve as a starting point for the conversations with the little ones in your life, too.
